Students in Mrs. Worsley's class have begun their study of the Southeast Region. All students created a 4 square poster with information and a picture. Some students chose to take this to another level by creating presentations. Check out their AWESOME creations HERE.
We are finishing up our unit on Force & Motion this week. Please use this Flippity game show to review the important concepts and information. After you've completed the review, leave a comment describing 3 things you learned from the unit.
4th grade students have been learning about Non-Fiction text and Non-Fiction Text Features for some time. As they learned more and more about this topic students began analyzing NF text during a Biography Research Project! Students were given a choice of who they would like to research and were able to use their Chromebooks and QR code readers to complete the research! Students used this AWESOME Teachers Pay Teachers resource to complete their research. Some students even had a chance to use their Screencastify App to turn their presentation into a video. Please use the ThingLink below to view the presentations :) STUDENTS: Please view 3 or more presentations. After viewing the presentations please submit a comment. EXAMPLE- Name of Person: 1 fact Name of Person: 1 fact Name of Person: 1 fact The 4th grade students have spent a lot of time working with Non Fiction text features. Mrs. Worsley used the quiz tool on flippity.net to create a game show to help students practice and differentiate between the different text features!
Students, write a post below 1) Naming the text feature you think is MOST important 2) What it means 3) Why you think it is most important. Please use complete sentences and RESTATE THE QUESTION. Beginning in February, Mrs. Worsley's class will be starting on a new adventure- Virtual Pen Pals! Mrs. Worsley reached out to teachers all over the world, using Edmodo, asking if their classrooms would like to join us as pen pals! The response was outstanding with over 30 teachers willing to be our pals! Mrs. Worsley narrowed down the responses and gave the students a vote. The final choices were: Chicago, West Virginia, Dallas, TX or Bali, Indonesia. The students chose Dallas, TX in a 2 vote win! Mrs. Worsley has been corresponding with the Dallas teacher so that the pen pal relationships can begin. Students! I am so excited about this new writing journey! Please comment below telling at least 2 reasons you are excited about starting pen pals :) **Don't forget to restate in your comment!** After watching the video located in your Google Classroom- please make a post listing AT LEAST 3 things you learned about the Northeast! I can't wait to see the facts you found important :)

Try to use good 4th grade spelling and grammar in your posts :) Today students used the Padlet App on their Chromebooks to brainstorm "What makes a good classroom." We reviewed all of their ideas and put them into 3 main categories.
1. Be Friends (be kind, work together, be helpful) 2. Be Responsible (clean, quiet, kind) 3. Have a Helpful Teacher Here is the Padlet they created! |
